Using a greenhouse in your garden is one of the best moves you can make if your goal is to grow better plants. Whether you have flowers or vegetables in your garden, the heat stored in the greenhouse can boost their growth and make them healthier. Some gardeners choose to construct their own greenhouses in order to save money. But if you don't have that much carpentry skills, or are simply too busy to have time for greenhouse construction, you can purchase one of the easy-to-install greenhouse kits.

If you decide to buy a greenhouse kit, though, you should know that there are several types of greenhouse kits out there, and that you should pick carefully so you end up with the best one for your garden. Here are a few of the more common greenhouse kits available today:

Cross Country

These greenhouses are very popular because of their efficiency and sturdiness. The frames are made of aluminum, making the entire greenhouse kit very lightweight yet durable. Their doors are totally screened and there is also a programmable ventilation system. With all these features, it is no surprise that the cross country greenhouse kits are quite expensive, costing up to $30,000.

Hobby Gardener

These greenhouses are ideal for housing many kinds of plants because they are quite spacious. The barn-like roof allows you to grow bigger plants inside the greenhouse. The covering is made with snapglass panels, which are just as clear as glass and as durable as polycarbonate covers. Hobby gardener greenhouse kits range from $1,000 to $2,000 each.

Juliana

The main feature of the Juliana greenhouse kits are their rust-free frames made from polycarbonate and aluminum. The wall covering is also doubled, unlike other greenhouse kits that only have one layer. But probably what make the Juliana such a bestseller is its very low price of $65.

Little Greenhouse

Because of their small size, these greenhouses are the most recommended for novice gardeners. But despite being small, little greenhouses boast of durable PCV frames, heavy-duty polyethylene sheets, and protection from the sun's harmful ultraviolet rays. Some little greenhouse kits even include an exhaust fan and a bench step, which can enhance your gardening experience.

Portable Greenhouse

If you are interested in seasonal gardening, a portable greenhouse kit is essential. These kits are very easy to install and to disassemble once the gardening season is over. Their frames are usually made of aluminum or steel, and their coverings are made of plastic film. You can buy a portable greenhouse kit for $300 or even less.

Sunshine

The frames used in these greenhouse kits are usually made of redwood, and are often quite tall, reaching up to 10 feet tall. The insulation of these greenhouses are built into the frame and are made of polycarbonate material. Sunshine greenhouse kits cost anywhere from $1,000 to $4,000.

Each of these greenhouses has its own special features so you should make your decision wisely. Know which plants you plan on growing before you set out to buy a greenhouse. This way, you will know what features to look for when picking out a greenhouse kit. Of course, in addition to the practicality of the greenhouse, consider how it looks and how much it costs.
